Afridi seeks inspiration from Qureshi

Pakistan's One-Day International and Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi is seeking inspiration from compatriot tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi.Afridi is hoping his team will learn from Qureshi's fine show at the recent US Open Grand Slam, where he finished runners-up in both the men's and mixed doubles events."His performances are an inspiration for all of us and he has brought so much joy to the people. I think our players must also take inspiration from him that nothing is impossible in sports," Afridi said."Qureshi may have lost but he fought hard and gave it his best shot and that is why everyone is proud of him," added Afridi.Afridi said he expected his players to show the same spirit in the remaining one-dayers against England. The hosts lead the five-match series 2-0 with the third match slated for Friday at the Oval.Afridi is taking heart from the show in the second One-Day International at Leeds to stage a comeback in the series."I think the performance was very good (at Leeds) but there were a few missed opportunities there. I hope that we don't repeat the same mistakes this time around. I think we should take these opportunities and my team is capable of beating any team.We can win the match, definitely," he added.Meanwhile in what is good news for the Pakistan team, all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has been declared fit to take the field in the remainder of the series. The hosts,on the other hand, are hoping to seal the series on Friday itself. Off-spinner Graeme Swann announced that England are confident but cautious about their prospects."It's been a long summer, and it would be nice if we could go out having won every series. That was the aim and we've got in a very good position to do it," opined Swann.A win in the second match at Leeds took England to the second position on the Reliance Mobile ICC ODI Championship. Swann however insisted that there is still considerable work to be done to catch Australia. "We're certainly not the finished article as our fielding showed at Headingley, we were like a schoolboy team there, but generally we are moving in the right direction," said Swann.
