Shark Night (2011) Review

Night Shark 3D, the new thriller from the animal attacked the venerable David R. shlockmeister Ellis, is dead in the water. He could have had a chance, chose to follow the path Piranha 3D Alexandre Aja blink meat grinder, and adopted a more assertive, kisses his B-movie ethos. However, the movie plays straight disastrous - and PG-13, no less - paris that can make us care about its cast of pretty faces, scaring us with his collection of CGI sharks to engage with a plot that incorporates elements of Deliverance and a twist of new media, or titillate us with images of breasts exposed coast and bikini cover behind. It's a losing bet.

The story presents a series of Tulane undergrads who descend on the lake Crosby, Louisiana this weekend to celebrate the summer. Not the Sara (Sara Paxton), more lively blonde, there's Nick (Dustin Milligan), shy in pre-med, we Malik (Sinqua Walls), happy life, a star football player, there is ... Oh, we're kidding? Most of these characters just recorded in our consciousness, much has been convicted in any case.

The game ends when the children discover that the lake was infested with man-eating sharks. It occurs when Malik, under the one being of the whole, African Americans, is the first to get chopped, lost her arm but not his talent for the over emoting. When his friends try to get help (we are warned in advance that the mobile service on their cottage on an island), they incur the wrath of the people of the region Redneck if indigenous natural enemies are being snooty college kids on vacation. Surrounded by dangers on land and at sea, our protagonists find their own way in, or die trying.

Even with the help of CGI and a large trial of questionable lenient MPAA ratings board of the Ellis can not remember the number of alerts at the Night of sharks. In fact, it seems interested in trying. The film is almost completely devoid of tension, logging over clumsily telegraphed an attack scene to another, each episode of the long struggle under water with very little to quicken the pulse. I rarely feel compelled to close their eyes. You will most likely be tempted to cover the ears, if only to be saved in the dialog.
