Dum Dum Maar failed to cause much controversy and its characterization of Goa before its release on April 22, but it seems that the film has proved a success at the box office.
The film has managed to bring the RS 16.5 crore last weekend and went on to be Abhishek Bachchan's first big hit in the head and Dostana. Vijay Singh, chief executive of Fox Star Studios has confirmed the news saying that "DMD Abhishek Bachchan is opening third of all time after Dhoom 2 and Dostana. The film is doing quite well in most centers."
It seems that Abhishek Bachchan is not the only star who attracted crowds to see the movie, but it is also Rana Daggubati role in the film, which was much appreciated. Rana is looking to bring viewers in South India. T. Srikanth, GM Operations, Prasad Media Corporation Ltd, confirms this by saying that "Rana's popularity, combined with the famous title of the film was a crowd puller."
Dum Dum Maar published on April 22 and stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Daggubati Rana, Aditya Pancholi and Prateik Babbar.
