Carrie by Stephen King is once again going to the screen.
MGM and Screen Gems new partnership of Stephen King book, and hired Spider-Man: Turn the Dark playwright Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa to write the new script.
The book, which the king was first published work, focusing on Carrie, a high school student, shy away side develops telekinetic powers and unleash when pushed too far on his ball.
The book was adapted into a famous 1976 film starring Sissy Spacek, Brian DePalma, Piper Laurie and John Travolta. There was also a musical, a forgettable 1999, after (called Carrie 2: The Rage) and a TV movie of 2002.
Screen Gems, MGM, and clearly think about the right time to tell.
Aguirre-Sacasa is a playwright who also writes comics for Marvel, perhaps above all his meticulous adaptations of King's epic The Stand. In mid-February, he was brought on board to fix troubled book musical Spider-Man.
