Rob Lowe welcomed the president Barack Obama has announced that al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden had been killed and said he hoped to close that door for them by the events of September 11, 2001.
Access Hollywood caught up with actor at a book signing for his memoir, "Stories I just told my friends in New York on Monday, where he talked about his night.
"People gathered spontaneously when they heard the news that we had killed Osama bin Laden," said Rob Access. "And to be there and share it with the New Yorker, was an incredible moment extraordinary."
The actor said Sunday's event was particularly personal for him, having been on board a flight Aug. 31, 2001, which proved to be a test for terrorists. Unbeknownst to Rob, he sat next to Zacarias Moussaoui, who was labeled as 9 / 11 's "20th hijacker and is currently serving a life sentence.
"I flew with 9 / 11 hijackers, was training on dry [ON] in the Pentagon who went to the crew and I knew," said an Access.
His memoir, the actress recalls a flight, saying: "No, every day seemed to be" terrorist "... looked like us."
"I filmed" The West Wing "and the flight made a number of times," said Rob access. "And yes, it is obviously personal to me, as it is for many Americans - not families as clearly - and I just wanted the closure as we all do, we all want closure."
The "Parks and Recreation," the new star was initially difficult to treat.

"They are true American heroes," he added. "Studs and serious ... the Oscar for them."
