The vine was spread by the news that the Bachchans have to patch the International Indian Film Academy (IFA), Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya and would take care of the event in Toronto, too. But junior Bachchan has hit the news.
"I want to say ... Neither Ash nor I shall carry out or assist IFA Toronto. Classic case of jumping the gun!" Abhishek posted on his Twitter page.
His father, superstar Amitabh Bachchan was the brand ambassador of IIFA Awards since its inception in 2000, but last year, the Big B could not attend the event in Sri Lanka, and the concept an ambassador for the brand itself has been abandoned.
Amitabh had said previously he would not attend the event this year.
"Do not come to Toronto ... IIFA IIFA said my services are not needed," he twittered.
IIFA weekend takes place June 23 to 25.
