The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star Michael Nyqvist has been cast as the villain in director Brad Bird’s Mission: Impossible 4, or whatever they decide to call it. The as yet untitled actioner will also feature the acting talents of Tom Cruise (back in the role of Ethan Hunt), Ving Rhames, Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg.
Nyqvist is best known for his work in the ‘Girl’ trilogy, where he played the character of Michael Blomkvist (a role which will be played by Daniel Craig in the Hollywood remakes) and will, according to The Hollywood Reporter play ‘one of the lead villains’ in the actioner, which is written by Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum (along with JJ Abrams, who also produces).
According to the trade, the Paramount Pictures production is currently scouting locations in Vancouver, Prague and Dubai for a December 2011 release.
