Chris Noth aka Mr. Big in “Sex and the City” has made a bitter proclamation: “Sex and the City” is officially dead as a film franchise.
The actor told U.K.’s The Sun: “It’s over. The franchise is dead.”
Noth believes that the media was way too harsh on the film and a mass, cynical panning put a pin in the femme fashionista comedy series.
“The press killed it. Your magazine %$#%$ killed it. New York Magazine.
“It’s like all the critics got together and said, ‘This franchise must die.’ They all had the exact same review. It’s like they didn’t see the movie.”
“Sex and the City 2” made only $95.3 million at the domestic box office, but rallied abroad with $193 million. Box office analysts believed that the film’s demise stateside stemmed from the film’s storyline moving from its signature New York setting to Dubai. However, that backdrop, arguably worked in favor of attracting foreign audiences.
Noth has nothing to worry about: He has a great job co-starring on CBS’ hit TV drama “The Good Wife.”
